The once beautiful Warner and Swasey Observatory lies abandoned, in Cleveland. It served astronomy for more than four decades before it closed, in 1983. Its telescopes were moved to other facilities, which featured darker skies. It is one of several abandoned observatories across the country, which form ghostly presences across the landscape.
