stars spin around the Hobby-Eberly Telescope at McDonald Observatory

Stars twirl above the Hobby-Eberly Telescope at McDonald Observatory. A project known as HETDEX uses the telescope to probe the nature of dark energy. Project astronomers recently released their first catalog of observations, which includes galaxies, the remnants of exploded stars, binary star systems, and many other objects. We have more about HETDEX in the May/June issue of StarDate magazine. [Ethan Tweedie Photography]
