A cold giant planet orbiting the star Epsilon Indi A shines bright orange in this infrared image from Webb Space Telescope. The star itself is blocked from view behind the black disk, allowing Webb to see the planet. The system is about 12 light-years from Earth. The planet is warmer than the giant planets of our own solar system, but close enough that it gives scientists a chance to compare Epsilon Indi Ab (the exoplanet’s designation) to Jupiter and the other gas giants.
