The globular star cluster NGC 2419 is one of the most distant objects in the Milky Way Galaxy. It’s currently about 300,000 light-years from the galactic center, although its elongated orbit carries it much farther. It contains hundreds of thousands of stars, although the brilliant stars to the upper left of center are foreground objects and not related to the cluster. [Adam Block/Mount Lemmon SkyCenter/Univ.
