Chiron, a giant asteroid in the outer solar system, is encircled by at least four rings and a thinner disk of dust, as depicted in this illustration. Chiron is one of the larger Centaurs, which are asteroids between the orbits of Jupiter and Neptune. It is roughly 125 miles (200 km) in diameter. [Observatório Nacional/Chrystian Luciano Pereira]
