The 'afterglow' of the Big Bang shows up as tiny variations in the temperature of space itself. This map, compiled by a NASA satellite, shows these variations as different colors. The variations created the conditions needed for the birth of the first stars and galaxies. This 11x14 photograph, printed on high-quality stock, comes with a descriptive caption.
