Astronomical observatories sit in some of the most remote locations on Earth, but one observatory is going to extremes: to the south pole. This month's CD includes five episodes on this unusual effort to study some of the most ephemeral particles in the universe. It also features episodes on a stormy moon, a dangerous asteroid, and some everyday chemical elements that were forged in the hearts of stars.
