Triangular Spiral
Triangular Spiral
M33, the Triangulum Galaxy, is one of our closest galactic neighbors, at a distance of about 2 million light-years. It is like a miniature version of our own galaxy, the Milky Way, with beautiful spiral arms wrapping around a dense core. New stars are being born in the bright red regions. [T.A.Rector/M.Hanna/NRAO/AURA/AUI/NSF] For more information, see our November 19 program.
