Comet Ikeya-Zhang March 24-26, 2002, Finder Chart
Ikeya-Zhang could be at its maximum brightness this week. Observations over
the last few days show it is brighter than fourth magnitude, which means it
should be visible to the unaided eye from most locations. It stands well up
in the west as darkness falls, and sets about three hours after the Sun. At
the beginning of the week it is in the constellation Pices. As the week
progresses, it will move farther north and drop a little lower in the sky
each evening.
