Stirring Up a Supernova
The stellar explosions known as supernovae are some of the most powerful blasts in the universe. They may be powered by magnetic fields, jets, sound waves, and a host of other phenomena. Theorists are working to create three-dimensional computer models that take into account all factors of these explosions, to better understand how massive stars "go out with a bang."
