Self-Portrait
The Curiosity rover is continuing to probe its Martian environment in search of clues to the planet's past. It snapped this self-portrait in early February, showing its location on the floor of a wide crater, near the crater's central mountain peak. The portrait was compiled from almost 200 individual frames shot from a camera on one of the rover's instrumented arms. Frames were selected to delete the view of the extended arm, providing a "clean" view of the rover. [NASA/JPL/MSSS]
