Inside the Wall

This high-resolution color view from the Curiosity rover shows the rim of Gale Crater in the distance. The rover is near the crater's center, not far from a tall central mountain. The small gray depression in the foreground shows where sand was blasted away by the rockets that lowered Curiosity to the surface.
