Final Endeavour
Space shuttle Endeavour rides a pillar of flame off its Florida launchpad to start its final mission on May 16. Endeavour carries a particle physics experiment, Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer 2, which will look for antimatter and dark matter and study cosmic rays. The shuttle's crew will attach the experiment to the International Space Station, where it is expected to observe the universe through the remainder of the station's lifetime. [NASA]
