Active Neighbor
At a distance of just 2.5 million light-years IC 10 is one of our nearest galactic neighbors. It's also one of the busiest. It is classified as a starburst galaxy, which means it is undergoing an intense bout of new star formation. The galaxy is much smaller and fainter than our own galactic home, the Milky Way.
